Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike has been seen working hard in the gym as he steps up his recovery from a serious Achilles injury.
The France international was forced off in the second leg of the Reds’ Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain back in April. Ekitike is not expected to return to action for many months, but supporters on X have been wishing the forward a speedy recovery after seeing him working out with his personal trainer:
Yo he's looking good!

Ekitike could miss the first half of the season (at least)
Achilles tendon injuries can take a full year to recover from, so it would be a surprise if the 24-year-old plays again in 2026.
The fact that Ekitike is already doing gymwork is a very good sign, but progress can be slow when recovering from such a major setback.
The Frenchman still has many stages remaining in his rehabilitation, and his absence will be keenly felt in the opening months of Andoni Iraola’s reign.
Liverpool have several other fitness concerns
Connor Bradley underwent surgery after sustaining a serious knee injury against Arsenal at the start of this year, and it remains to be seen if he will be available for pre-season.
Giovanni Leoni should be closer to making his return, with the Italian having picked up an ACL all the way back in September. Such injuries usually take around nine months to fully recover from, so that suggests he could be nearing his comeback.
New signing Victor Munoz has had some muscular problems whilst with the Spain squad at the World Cup, but the winger took part in full training earlier this week and he was named on the substitutes’ bench for the 3-0 win over Austria in the round of 32 tie on Thursday.
