Arsenal's spending could be set to go through the roof as the summer transfer window ramps up. The Gunners have wrapped up a single senior signing this summer but are beginning to gather pace in discussions over numerous other players.
One deal in particular could see the current kings of England poach not one but two stars from a Premier League rival. However, it would likely see almost all of the club's summer war chest exhausted in a single swoop.
Mikel Arteta and his team clearly aren't interested in resting on their laurels as they chase back-to-back league titles. And Mirror Football dissects the latest stories out of the rumour mill this weekend.
Arsenal want both Rogers and Konsa
Arsenal's interest in Morgan Rogers is nothing new, but it's now come to light that the Gunners also want his Aston Villa team-mate Ezri Konsa. Both players are currently away on England duty at the World Cup, but could find themselves signed with the Premier League champions by the time they come home.
The Telegraph recently reported Villa want a British record £130million fee if they're to sell Rogers this summer. The creative star is also reportedly wanted by Chelsea, who could be braced for a bidding war with Arteta's side.
The Daily Mail has since detailed Arsenal's interest in Konsa, too. With the future of right-back Ben White looking uncertain, it seems the Gunners want another candidate who can cover right-back but also central defence.
What's more, Arsenal reportedly believe they can get a deal done for somewhere in the region of £35m. However, it's alleged Villa will want more for the 28-year-old.

If Arsenal were to sign Konsa at the lower end of that spectrum, the two transfers would total £165m. In addition to the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie, that would bring this summer's spend up to around £200m on the dot.
Rogers, who is equally adept in a No. 10 role as he is out wide, could arrive as a replacement for Leandro Trossard. The Belgium winger continues to be linked with a move to Besiktas, while Gabriel Martinelli is also being tipped for the Emirates exit.
Jeremy Monga signing explained
The reason behind Arsenal withdrawing their interest in Jeremy Monga has been uncovered. That's after Manchester City pressed ahead in the transfer race and are seemingly on the verge of signing the teenager for around £10m.
Arsenal were heavily rumoured to have an interest in Leicester City's prodigious talent. They even had a £5m offer for the 16-year-old rejected but remained locked in talks as they sought to pip City to a deal.

However, it seems the influence of new City boss Enzo Maresca, who worked with Monga at Leicester, was key. Once the Italian entered the equation, on top of the inflated fee, the Gunners withdrew from discussions.
Monga is tipped for a bright future and was one of the bright sparks of Leicester's season despite their relegation to League One. Depending on how the next couple of months unfold, he may soon find himself starring in a Premier League setup.
