Arsenal's expenditure could be set to reach new heights as the summer transfer window gathers steam. The Gunners have secured a single senior addition this summer but are beginning to accelerate talks over several other targets.
One potential deal in particular could see the reigning English champions lure not one but two stars away from a Premier League rival. Nevertheless, it would likely see the vast majority of the club's summer budget exhausted in one fell swoop.
Mikel Arteta and his backroom staff are clearly not content to sit back and admire their achievements as they pursue back-to-back league titles. football.london breaks down the latest stories emerging from the rumour mill this weekend.

Jeremy Monga signing explained
The reason behind Arsenal's decision to withdraw their interest in Jeremy Monga has come to light. Manchester City have moved decisively in the transfer race and appear to be on the verge of securing the teenager for around £10m.
Arsenal were widely reported to have been keen on Leicester City's highly rated youngster. They even had a £5m bid for the 16-year-old rebuffed but remained in discussions as they looked to pip City to his signature.
Nevertheless, it appears the influence of new City manager Enzo Maresca, who worked alongside Monga at Leicester, proved decisive. Once the Italian entered the picture, combined with the inflated asking price, the Gunners pulled out of negotiations.
Monga is tipped for a bright future and was one of the standout performers of Leicester's campaign despite their drop to League One. Depending on how the coming months play out, he could soon find himself featuring in a Premier League environment.
Arsenal want both Rogers and Konsa
Arsenal's pursuit of Morgan Rogers is well-documented, but it has now emerged the Gunners are also targeting his Aston Villa team-mate Ezri Konsa. Both players are currently representing England at the World Cup, but could find themselves signed by the Premier League champions upon their return.
The Telegraph recently reported Villa are demanding a British record £130million fee should they sanction Rogers' departure this summer. The creative star is also reportedly a target for Chelsea, who may find themselves locked in a bidding war with Arteta's side.

The Daily Mail has since reported Arsenal's interest in Konsa as well. With right-back Ben White's future appearing increasingly uncertain, it appears the Gunners are seeking a versatile option capable of operating at both right-back and centre-half.
Furthermore, Arsenal reportedly believe a deal could be struck for somewhere in the region of £35million. However, it's alleged Villa will demand considerably more for the 28-year-old.
Should Arsenal secure Konsa at the lower end of that valuation, the two transfers would amount to £165m in total. Combined with the permanent acquisition of Piero Hincapie, this summer's outlay would rise to approximately £200million.

Rogers, who is equally comfortable in a No. 10 role as he is out wide, could arrive as a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard. The Belgian winger continues to be linked with a switch to Besiktas, while Gabriel Martinelli is also being tipped for the exit door at the Emirates.
