Tottenham make approach for signing – 26-year-old would add squad strength

Tottenham Hotspur have to overcome competition from Nottingham Forest, Everton and Fulham to sign Atalanta’s Raoul Bellanova.

On June 7th, we relayed news his athleticism has caught Spurs and Nottingham Forest attention.

Later that month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Fulham are more serious. Last week, there were claims of Everton’s interest in the right-back.

He joined the Serie A side from Torino for around €25m in August 2024 and has played 80 matches of which 36 matches were from last season.

Tottenham want to find out details

TuttoMercatoWeb now cover the latest on Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Everton, who have made moves to sign the 26-year-old.

Fulham have already made contact to ask about Raoul Bellanova. Since then, Roberto De Zerbi’s side, Nottingham Forest and Everton have made approaches to find out the feasibility of signing him.

The Italian club seem to be open to a sale and are asking for a fee between €15-20m. He could continue in Serie A by making a switch to Napoli, who are also keen.

On Friday, the Naples club appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager and he’s ‘very keen’ on the Italy international. Antonio Conte’s successor believes his compatriot could be useful for the Naples club.

TMW makes no mention of whether Bellanova prefers to continue in Italy or move to England.

If it’s the latter, he then has to decide between the four clubs, none of whom can offer European football next season. Napoli, on the other hand, have qualified for the Champions League.

What seems certain for now is that the player’s time at Atalanta ‘is over’. With multiple suitors, TMW states ‘news is expected soon, with someone likely to make a move and acquire him’.

Our take: Back-up role at Tottenham

Pedro Porro has been the first choice right-back at the north London club in recent years. Last month, Spurs secured his long-term future by offering him a new contract at Roberto De Zerbi’s insistence.

If Raoul Bellanova joins Tottenham Hotspur, he will be the Spain international’s back-up and spend most of his time on the bench.

Bellanova has a contract until 2029 and has a value of €15m as per Transfermarkt. UK agency CAA Base manage the Atalanta player.
