Recent reports have sparked fresh speculation over Enzo Fernandez’s future at Chelsea after reports emerged suggesting the midfielder’s representatives are exploring the possibility of a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Fernandez, who joined Chelsea for a then-British record transfer fee from Benfica in January 2023, remains one of the club’s most influential midfielders and is widely viewed as a central figure in the Blues’ long-term plans.
The Argentina international has continued to feature prominently despite periods of inconsistency across the team in recent seasons.
Transfer speculation surrounding the midfielder is not new. Several of Europe’s leading clubs have previously been linked with Fernandez, largely because of his pedigree as a World Cup winner and his reputation as one of the game’s elite central midfielders.
His passing range, tactical intelligence and ability to dictate the tempo of matches have ensured he remains a player admired across the continent. Now his representative has confirmed that they are looking for a way out of CHELSEA.
“He’s only thinking about that [World Cup], and we’re looking at possibilities for him to leave Chelsea, but there’s nothing concrete or confirmed with any club,” Pastore said, as quoted by Marca.
Discussing Fernandez’s comments about Madrid, he said: “He has many friends there, and he’s very good friends with Julian Alvarez, and in the end, they spend all their free time together there.
‘And I also live in Madrid. Every time he traveled, it was to see me and to sort out work matters, but besides that: who doesn’t like Madrid? I didn’t even play in Madrid. I even live there.”
***CHELSEA***‘s hierarchy are expected to remain focused on strengthening key areas of the squad rather than sanctioning departures of established first-team regulars. Any club interested in signing Fernandez would almost certainly need to submit a substantial offer given his age, contract situation and importance to the team.
