Liverpool's transfer activity has ground to a near halt following the capture of Victor Munoz last month. Andoni Iraola's outfit moved quickly to secure the Spanish winger from Osasuna in a $46 million deal.
Defender Jeremy Jacquet has also officially finalised his switch to the Reds, having signed in January for a move from Rennes worth around $80 million, though business has slowed considerably in recent weeks. Since the window opened, rumours have centred on possible acquisitions including Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola. Diomande has dealt Liverpool their first blow after seemingly deciding to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Today's reports suggest another potential signing has allegedly chosen Liverpool's Premier League competitors, Arsenal, ahead of Anfield. Additionally, a surprising claim regarding Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk has surfaced. Here are the latest headlines...
Van Dijk question emerges
Liverpool are willing to offload Virgil van Dijk during the summer transfer window, according to reports from TEAMtalk. The Reds skipper has cemented his status as one of the premier defenders in modern football since sealing a £75m move from Southampton in January 2018.
Virgil van Dijk's Liverpool contract runs until the summer of 2027, yet speculation has been growing that Turkish outfits, amongst them Galatasaray, are eager to recruit the defender. Reports suggest that, while Liverpool are not actively looking to move the centre-back on, they remain 'open to offers' for the player, who celebrates his 35th birthday this month.
It is understood that Van Dijk and Liverpool 'are prepared to evaluate any serious offer on its merits before making a decision', with suggestions that the club no longer consider their skipper as 'untouchable. ' That said, incoming Reds head coach Iraola is not actively pushing for the defender's exit.

TEAMtalk has further reported that former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has earmarked Van Dijk as a top priority for his new club, Milan. The Dutch international has proven to be a transformative signing since arriving at Anfield.
He has led Liverpool to two Premier League titles, the Champions League in 2019, and a host of further domestic trophies. Van Dijk has also appeared in two more European Cup finals with the Reds, falling to defeat against Real Madrid on both occasions.
Another Liverpool blow
Liverpool's hopes of landing Bradley Barcola appear to have been dealt a setback, with the winger reportedly favouring a move to Arsenal. The Daily Mail's Lewis Steele indicates that the Reds are simply not considered as appealing a destination this year as they were 12 months ago, when they had just claimed the Premier League title.
Speaking on the Anfield Index podcast, Steele said: "I do think he probably will end up leaving PSG. He's got a decision to make and he might prefer Arsenal. He's probably looking at [Mikel] Arteta, and he might want to live in the capital city of London."
The journalist continued by explaining that Liverpool have established preliminary contact regarding Barcola, though, similarly to Diomande, this groundwork may ultimately fall short of securing the winger's arrival. PSG are understood to be determined to keep hold of Barcola, with reports suggesting they value him at approximately £116m.

Steele additionally pointed out that the European champions might demand an even higher transfer fee if France succeed in winning the World Cup, a prospect that appears ever more realistic at present.
He added: "It's going to be very, very hard for Liverpool to get Barcola," acknowledging that the Reds have thus far been unsuccessful in landing their top transfer priorities.
