Alejandro Garnacho will have to leave Chelsea after having left with no option
Not long ago, Chelsea were crowned as world champions. After showing a strong display in the summer and signing some top talents, fans were really hoping for a good season. Everyone expected the Blues to have a dominant campaign, especially in the Premier League.
But things went totally opposite. The London side were found to be in a shocking position at the season end. They came 10th in the Premier League table after the 38th matchday. The club sacked two managers, Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior last season. New manager Xabi Alonso will start his journey with no European football. His main focus will be on the Premier League and other domestic competitions.
As reported by Football 365, Xabi Alonso wants Chelsea to sell Alejandro Garnacho in the summer window. The Blues have already signed some new youngsters for the 2026-27 season. They have maintained their pull in spite of missing European football. But they need to balance their inflated squad. In that case, a significant number of outgoings will take place.
Garnacho had a wasteful first season at Stamford Bridge. The former Man United winger scored 1 goal and gave 4 assists in 24 matches in Premier League, according to FOTMOB. Alonso wants to set up his team in a completely new way by implementing his ideas and take the team in a new path.

Roma is interested in Alejandro Garnacho amidst his chaos at Chelsea
As reported by Sporitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, Serie A side Roma are heavily interested in Garnacho. They are looking forward to sign him this summer. Chelsea will have to decide whether they want a permanent sale or a loan. Roma will accept any kind of move. But Garnacho’s departure from the Premier League is highly possible.
The Italian journalist has also confirmed that any potential deal for the Argentine will not affect their pursuit of Mason Greenwood. The Italian side have been in the market for the English forward also. Pedulla posted on X, “Exclusive: #Roma, in the last few hours poll with #Chelsea for #Garnacho. Request for information.” Gasperini’s side likes his playstyle. Greenwood and Garnacho possess different profiles.
What did Tony Cascarino say about Garnacho’s move to Chelsea?
As reported by Goal, ex-Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino believes that Garnacho was pulled by London’s attractiveness and luxury while making a move to Chelsea. He didn’t think about his career growth while joining the Blues. His fallout with former Man United managers was also a big reason which drove him out of Old Trafford.
He said, “I didn’t think, only by the way he acted, that he acted like a lad that wanted to stay at Old Trafford and I think he thought the grass was greener elsewhere and the opportunity to go to Chelsea.” Cascarino also pointed out that several foreign football players like to live in London. They find it much more comfortable.
