Liverpool has been told the club can land a Yan Diomande transfer alternative from RB Leipzig this summer.
The Reds had been desperate to add the Ivorian international to their roster before Diomande made the decision to move to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 instead.
It was a call from the attacker which came as a disappointment to Andoni Iraola and set the Spaniard and his scouting staff on a different path with alternative options being tracked including Bradley Barcola before the new season. And one of those candidates for signing has emerged as Diomande's teammate in the Bundesliga, $57million-rated Antonio Nusa up front.
A report in Fussballdaten claims that the Norway international would be permitted to leave his club in the Bundesliga if Leipzig's asking price is met. And the publication provides the numbers involved.
The report reads: "The club’s current stance is not based on an urgent need to sell the player.
"However, Leipzig is very open to negotiations if a suitable financial offer is received
“The German club is preparing to give the green light for the player’s departure if an offer in the region of €50m is received.”

That, as mentioned, would equate to around $57m which would not be a figure outside the realms of possibility for the Reds this summer.
Nusa is still just 21-years-old and offers Liverpool an experienced youngster with bags of talent. He also has plenty of potential and with a fee at that amount, he represents good value for cash with serious sell-on value down the line.
The playmaker has already turned out 71 times for RB Leipzig's first-team despite his tender age and has provided as many as 10 goals and 11 assists in that time. Before that he played as a teenager for Club Brugge's first-team and made 86 appearances, scoring seven and assisting a further six times.
He began his career with Stabaek and scored three times in 13 matches. So his statistics provide proof that he is capable of consistently making the step up and making the grade wherever he plays.
Nusa is now enjoying a stint at the World Cup with his nation where they are through to the last-16 following victory over Ivory Coast - Diomande's nation - as well as wins over Iraq and Senegal in their group stage fixtures.
The playmaker has shown his versatility, too, having played mostly as a winger but also through the middle when required.
That sort of adaptability would surely suit the Reds depending on the regular system Iraola wants his squad playing.

Liverpool has already strengthened in the wide areas with Osasuna's Victor Munoz arriving for close to $46m.
