Aston Villa, Leeds and Everton’s concrete interest in same signing – Player closer to PL move

Aston Villa, Leeds United and Everton are all pursuing Juventus’ Lloyd Kelly this summer.

On Monday, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Aston Villa could start talks for the defender. Later that day, we relayed news of Leeds United’s interest.

Everton have joined the Premier League duo in the chase for the 27-year-old.

Aston Villa, Leeds United and Everton keen

That’s according to Tutto Juve, who makes it clear it’s their own updates on the Premier League trio’s interest in Lloyd Kelly.

The 27-year-old joined Newcastle United for free in 2024, after a five-year spell at AFC Bournemouth. He didn’t feature regularly for the Magpies and Juventus signed him on loan in February 2025 before making his stay permanent later that year.

Last season, the centre-back played 3,947 minutes from 44 matches but could be on the move. As of now, a switch to the Premier League remains the ‘most realistic scenario’. The outlet, however, makes no mention why he wants to leave.

He would welcome a return to the Premier League, where Aston Villa, Leeds United and Everton have shown concrete interest. It’s possible the three English clubs could make advances as the outlet claims Kelly is getting closer to returning to the Premier League.

The Serie A side, for their part, are open to parting ways with him. Kelly’s sale would in return help the Old Lady to finance new signings this summer.

Luciano Spalletti’s side had initially set a €35m price but could sanction a move for around €30m. Their intention is to avoid lengthy negotiations.

Tutto Juve insists the growing competition from Aston Villa, Leeds United and Everton could increase Juve’s chances of reaching a quick agreement. Whether that’s the case remains to be seen, while the Turin club are waiting for the right offer.

Contract, value and agent info

Lloyd Kelly has three years left on his contract and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is now €23m.

Agency Collective Sports Management represent the former Cherries man. His preference among Aston Villa, Leeds United and Everton isn’t made clear.

The defender can play in the Champions League with the Villans while the two other clubs haven’t qualified for Europe.
