Liverpool still have considerable work ahead in this summer's transfer window. Since the Reds secured Victor Munoz from Osasuna last month, progress on arrivals and departures has rather ground to a halt.

Andoni Iraola's team acted swiftly to land the Spanish winger, who is presently representing Spain at the World Cup. French defender Jeremy Jacquet has also formally joined the Reds, having penned his deal in January following his switch from Rennes for a fee of approximately £60m.

However, there's no escaping the fact that Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande's choice to join Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the Reds has dealt a significant blow to their transfer strategy. Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest news from Anfield.

Klopp insists he doesn't anticipate Red Bull blocking his path to becoming Germany's next manager after acknowledging ongoing talks to succeed Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann promptly resigned from his role following Germany's penalty shoot-out elimination by Paraguay on Monday at the World Cup.

The former Reds boss, who currently serves as Red Bull's global head of football, has been present at the World Cup working as a pundit for German broadcaster Magenta. Speaking on television, he maintained that his present employers wouldn't obstruct his ambition to take charge of his homeland.

"Yes, I can confirm the talks," Klopp told Magenta. "Things moved pretty quickly. Julian stepped down. The DFB (German FA) are looking for a successor. And they're talking to me.

"What needs to happen now? Time. I'm under contract with Red Bull. I've said I'm interested in the talks. They will be intensive because this isn't only about Julian Nagelsmann.

"I have an existing contract with Red Bull. I've said many times how much I enjoy this job. As a person, I usually honour contracts. But I've also made it clear that I'm interested in talks with the DFB.

"I also have to speak with (Red Bull CEO) Oliver Mintzlaff. He's my employer. We've already touched on a few things. I assume he won't stand in the way. I've been there for 19 months. It was an intense time. I'm ready. Once the talks begin, your mind starts racing. We have to change things fundamentally.

"There will have to be intensive discussions, because, of course, the problems we currently have cannot be pinned only on Julian Nagelsmann. Julian is an exceptional coach, and he will be able to prove that time and again throughout his coaching career."

Aurelien Tchouameni appears set to remain at Madrid this summer. The tenacious midfielder has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool for some time amidst persistent rumours of his potential departure from Los Blancos for a fee in the region of £77million.

As early as 2022, ex-Reds manager Klopp was reportedly keen on bringing the French player to Anfield. Just last month, TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool were confident they could secure the player's services this summer.

However, Madrid's new manager Jose Mourinho, now in his second stint with Los Blancos, has allegedly halted any such move. TEAMtalk suggests that despite interest from Liverpool and Man Utd, Tchouameni will stay put in Madrid.

The report asserts that the 26-year-old, who has played a crucial role in Madrid's recent successes, "will be given the opportunity to establish himself as a guaranteed starter next season."
