Liverpool still have substantial transfer activity to conclude during this summer's window. Since the Reds completed the acquisition of Victor Munoz from Osasuna last month, momentum regarding both incoming and outgoing deals has largely stalled.

Andoni Iraola's team moved decisively to secure the Spanish winger, who is currently representing his nation at the World Cup. French defender Jeremy Jacquet has likewise officially arrived at the club, having signed in January on a move from Rennes worth around $80 million.

However, there's no denying that Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande's decision to join Paris Saint-Germain rather than the Reds has delivered a considerable setback to their recruitment plans. Today's updates see Real Madrid make a determination regarding a longstanding Reds target, while former boss Jürgen Klopp addresses his future plans publicly, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Klopp confirms talks

Klopp states he doesn't expect Red Bull to stand in his way of taking up the Germany manager's position after confirming conversations are ongoing to replace Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann swiftly stepped down from his post following Germany's penalty shootout elimination against Paraguay at the World Cup on Monday. The former Anfield chief, who currently holds the position of Red Bull's global head of soccer, has been attending the World Cup in his capacity as a pundit for German broadcaster Magenta.

Speaking on air, he confirmed that his current employers would not stand in the way of his desire to take the helm of the national side.

"Yes, I can confirm the talks," Klopp told Magenta. "Things moved pretty quickly. Julian stepped down. The DFB (German FA) are looking for a successor. And they're talking to me.

"What needs to happen now? Time. I'm under contract with Red Bull. I've said I'm interested in the talks. They will be intensive because this isn't only about Julian Nagelsmann.

"I have an existing contract with Red Bull. I've said many times how much I enjoy this job. As a person, I usually honour contracts. But I've also made it clear that I'm interested in talks with the DFB.

"I also have to speak with (Red Bull CEO) Oliver Mintzlaff. He's my employer. We've already touched on a few things. I assume he won't stand in the way. I've been there for 19 months. It was an intense time. I'm ready. Once the talks begin, your mind starts racing. We have to change things fundamentally.

"There will have to be intensive discussions, because, of course, the problems we currently have cannot be pinned only on Julian Nagelsmann. Julian is an exceptional coach, and he will be able to prove that time and again throughout his coaching career."

Madrid's Tchouameni call

It looks increasingly likely that Aurélien Tchouaméni will be staying put at Madrid this summer. The tenacious midfielder has long been linked with a move to Liverpool, with persistent speculation suggesting he could be on his way out of Los Blancos.

As far back as 2022, former Reds boss Klopp was reportedly keen to bring the Frenchman to Anfield. Last month, TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool were confident of securing his signature before the end of the summer transfer window.

However, newly appointed Madrid manager José Mourinho, embarking on his second spell at the Spanish giants, has reportedly put the brakes on any potential exit. TEAMtalk claims that, despite interest from both Liverpool and Manchester United, Tchouaméni will be staying at Madrid.

The report indicates that the 26-year-old, who has proved instrumental in Madrid's recent successes, "will be given the opportunity to establish himself as a guaranteed starter next season."
