Arsenal exit talk cools as injury complicates interest

Ben White’s injury continues to cloud his future, despite interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

In a piece mostly focusing on Morgan Rogers, Gary Jacob reported for The Times recently that Ben White’s future is “clouded by injury”, despite the player drawing interest from fellow Premier League sides Everton and Crystal Palace.

In a similar update last month, Jacob had reported that the defender was “unlikely to take a drop in level” this summer.

Over the final few months of the 2025/26, it began to look increasingly likely that White would be on the way out in the summer. But we’re now almost in July, and if anything, reports are now much less certain about the defender’s fate.

As Jacob mentions, White’s injury is obviously having a significant impact. A Premier League club that might have been willing to pay a good fee for a fully-fit White might now think twice or lower their offer in light of his knee injury.

Arsenal confirmed in May that White had suffered a significant medial knee ligament injury, and that they were aiming to have him back for their pre-season preparations later this year.

Perhaps that will lead to interested clubs firming up their interest as and when they see White back out on the pitch. If Arsenal do get any offers before then, they may not be the kind of offers the club are looking for.

If White is also against making a significant drop in level, that’s also going to be a limiting factor. All in all, it seems a lot more reasonable to believe that White might not be going anywhere after all.
