Should Tyrique George become an Everton player, as expected, it will be the fourth successive summer a player has moved between the clubs

Everton and Chelsea have now conducted business across four consecutive summer transfer windows after a deal was agreed over the future of Tyrique George.
The clubs have enjoyed a positive relationship for some time and that paid off once again across recent days with Chelsea willing to negotiate over the terms of a permanent switch for George.
Everton did have an opportunity to buy the 20-year-old within the loan agreement that brought him to Merseyside midway through last season.
But as the ECHO reported in May, their willingness to keep George was dependent on Chelsea being open to changing those conditions.
Unless any late issues emerge, the England Under-21 international is now set to become the third signing of the Blues' summer after Merlin Rohl’s loan was made permanent and following Hayden Hackney’s arrival last week.
It marks the continuation of a run of business with Chelsea that now stretches back to the summer of 2023, when Everton starlet Ishe Samuels-Smith moved to Stamford Bridge.
The then-teenager, who had been named on the first team bench at the age of just 16 by Frank Lampard, has since spent time at Strasbourg and Swansea City and is expected to be assessed by Xabi Alonso once he recovers from quadriceps surgery.
The business since has been in the other direction. On deadline day in 2024, Armando Broja secured a dramatic after-hours loan switch to Everton that required a deal sheet to be submitted. The forward arrived at the club injured and struggled for fitness throughout that campaign, leaving without scoring in Royal Blue.
Last summer, Everton moved for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a £25m deal that led to him becoming a talisman for his new club. The FIFA Club World Cup winner enjoyed a fine maiden season at Hill Dickinson Stadium, scoring eight goals.
The clubs were back in talks in January, when the loan deal for George was agreed as Everton sought a replacement for the injured Jack Grealish. Recent days have led to the breakthrough over making the winger's move permanent.
There remains the possibility of the Blues also engaging over Chelsea striker Liam Delap, though a striker is not necessarily a priority for David Moyes.
The Everton manager attempted to sign Delap from Ipswich Town last summer.
The Blues lost that battle to Chelsea but while the forward endured a tough season, Moyes is still a fan.
