Barcelona willing to entertain AC Milan star’s arrival on one condition

Recent reports have suggested that FC Barcelona have [looked into the situation](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/barcelona-make-enquiry-over-ac-milan-winger-rafael-leao-report/) of a certain AC Milan superstar. Rafael Leao, currently a key player for the Serie A club and the Portuguese National team, is the player reportedly being linked to the Catalan giants.

However, it is clear to see that the player’s arrival is not exactly a priority. Furthermore, the club would not even want to consider having to pay up a big amount to ensure a permanent transfer for the player given that the club’s current priority is to bring in a new striker.

Yet, according to [SPORT](//www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/opciones-fichar-rafa-leao-pasarian-132128174), there is one condition upon which Barça could potentially consider the arrival of the 27-year-old forward. That condition, as per the report, would be the possibility of a loan deal without any mandatory purchase option attached to the deal.

Similar to the Marcus Rashford operation that they carried out last season, Barcelona would ideally like to follow the same procedure for Leao as well. Unfortunately for the Catalan giants, AC Milan reportedly do not see eye to eye with Barça on the viability of this option and would only consider a loan deal if it guarantees a permanent transfer.

However, since Barça were unwilling to spend even €30 million on Rashford’s permanent stay, it would be unlikely for them to commit to spending even more than that for Leao in the future. For that reason, at least for now, there seems to be a stalemate of sorts that prevents Barça from pursuing this whole potential operation too diligently.

As for the player himself, it seems that he could be on his way out this summer and leave the Serie A behind. While Barcelona could use his explosiveness as an option, it is simultaneously also true that Anthony Gordon has arrived just this summer and Julian Alvarez remains a clear priority for La Blaugrana at the moment.
