Harry Kane has been unbelievable this season.
The player, who has had a stellar season thus far for Bayern Munich and England, is showing the world what he is capable of at the FIFA World Cup, dragging England to the Round of 16 by himself. Of course, every game is a team effort, but Kane is just on a different stratosphere to everyone else at the moment.
Kane’s England teammates are ecstatic for being able to share the pitch with him every game, and for good reason… the player has been sensational throughout the tournament and is the only reason England are favourites heading into all these fixtures.
Barcelona’s new signing Anthony Gordon was full of praise for the England captain when interviewed by SkySports (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) after the game vs DR Congo. The winger exclaimed, “It’s amazing to be around him every day. He’s having a season that’s only ever been beat by Leo Messi, the greatest footballer of all time. So that speaks to the level he’s playing at.”
If there’s one thing we know about Kane, it’s that he lets his football do the talking.
Gordon continued, “It’s no accident. It’s consistency every day: how hard he works, every finishing drill, he does it with passion, he does it with seriousness. He never, ever misses a beat. It’s amazing to be around him. He’s definitely an inspiration to all of us.”
One thing is clear – Harry Kane is England’s heartbeat, its engine. And if England are to have any hopes of making a deep run in WC 2026, they would need their captain to continue putting in these world-class performances.
Thankfully for England, Kane shines when the lights are brightest.
