FSG mean business: Liverpool now launch move for "unbelievable" forward at huge discount

Liverpool are making a serious move to secure the signature of West Ham United star Crysencio Summerville.

The race for Summerville's signature is starting to heat up, with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United also keen, off the back of what was an impressive campaign on a personal level, despite West Ham's relegation from the Premier League.

Since then, the Netherlands international has also gone on to put himself in the window with his displays at the World Cup, chipping in with two goals and two assists in four matches prior to his side's round of 32 exit at the hands of Morocco.

Liverpool make serious move to sign Summerville

Summerville-Netherlands

According to a report from Caught Offside, Liverpool have now made a serious move to secure Summerville's signature, joining the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Man United and Chelsea in the battle for his signature.

The Hammers were hoping to hold out for £50m, but there is a feeling they may have to cash in as low as £30m, with relegation from the Premier League weakening their negotiating position for a player who has no intention of playing in the second tier.

Summerville could be ready for move to top club

Jean-Clair Todibo has been full of praise for his teammate, saying: "The guy is incredible! His injury slowed him down, and people didn’t see a lot of him. He's just unbelievable. When he takes the ball, I think everyone is scared in the league. That’s the player he wants to be, and he has the quality to do it."

At international level, no Netherlands player amassed more goal involvements than the West Ham forward at the World Cup (4), and he was a constant threat for Nuno's side in the Premier League last season.

An average of 1.9 successful dribbles per 90 was the second-highest number in Nuno's squad, and Rio Ngumoha, who averaged a staggering 4.9, was the only Liverpool player who drove at opposition defences more.

The Rotterdam-born winger will have big shoes to fill at Anfield, with Salah scoring a remarkable 257 goals during his nine-year stint on Merseyside.

However, Summerville has proven he is ready to test himself at a higher level, and a transfer fee as low as £30m would be more than reasonable.
