The Blues could be set for another major squad departure this summer. Fresh transfer news reports suggest that Trevoh Chalobah is likely to leave Chelsea before the new season begins. The defender is looking for a new challenge away from Stamford Bridge, and a move to Italy seems to be on the cards.
Trevoh Chalobah seeks Italian move after breakthrough season
Chalobah had an impressive campaign for Chelsea last year, making 34 appearances in the Premier League. He showed his quality and reliability in the heart of the defense. However, despite his consistent performances on the pitch, things are changing quickly in west London under incoming coach Xabi Alonso.
As reported by the Mirror, Chalobah’s agents have already flown out of the UK to hold transfer talks with two major clubs in Italy. The 26-year-old defender is currently across the Atlantic representing England at the World Cup, but his agents are working hard behind the scenes to secure his future. Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed on X, that he is incredibly keen on a move to Serie A from Chelsea for the 2026-27 season.

Inter Milan and Como join the race for Trevoh Chalobah
While the defender prepares for his upcoming international matches, many clubs are already battling for his signature. Newly promoted side Como, managed by former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas, have shown a massive interest in the defender. As reported by Yahoo Sports, Chelsea has already rejected an initial opening offer of around 23 million pounds from the club.
As reported by Football Italia, Italian giants Inter Milan are also firmly in the race. Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio has been a long-term admirer of the English CB and wants to bring him to San Siro. Discussions between Chalobah’s camp and Inter are currently ongoing. The Blues have valued the defender at around 34.5 million pounds, and they are open to a sale if their asking price is met.
End of a long journey at Stamford Bridge
If Chalobah completes a permanent move this summer, it will bring an end to a very long relationship with Chelsea. He joined the club’s famous academy at the age of just eight and has worked his way through every single youth rank. While he has enjoyed loan spells away from the club in the past, he has never left Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal.
The defender’s recent rise even caught the eye of England manager Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel showed immense faith in the defender by calling him up to the England World Cup squad as a late replacement for the injured Tino Livramento. Now, with his reputation growing across Europe, Chalobah feels the time is exactly right to test himself in a new league.
Trevoh Chalobah pushing for a move to Serie A feels like a very bold but sensible choice. He proved his Premier League quality last season. He deserves to be a guaranteed starter and play good football elsewhere. If Inter Milan or Como can meet Chelsea’s valuation, a move to sunny Italy could be the perfect step to take his game to the next level.
