Here’s all you need to know about our number 29…
### FOOTBALL ORIGINS
German forward Selina grew up in Kiel, where she was born in 2000, and is of Turkish and Azerbaijani descent.
After starting to play football at the age of four and watching her father play amateur football, she began her youth career at SV Friedrichsort and then Holstein Kiel before moving to Magdeburger FFC, making an instant impression with 23 goals in 15 games in the B junior Bundesliga, and then making her senior debut for Bayern Munich II in 2017, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 22 appearances.
### THE GOALS KEPT COMING
She regularly moved between German clubs, going on to play for Werder Bremen, Turbine Potsdam (where she was top scorer with eight goals in her first season), 1. FC Koln and TSG Hoffenheim up until 2026.
It was Hoffenheim where she’s had her most prolific spell, scoring 34 goals in 47 appearances over two seasons, including her first goal six minutes into her debut.
She finished joint top scorer with 16 league goals in the 2024/25 season at Hoffenheim thanks to a hat-trick on the final day.
### REPRESENTING HER COUNTRY
At international level, she has regularly represented Germany since 2022, and scored a hat-trick against Scotland in the 2025 Nations League.
As Hoffenheim’s number 29 (and now ours), as well as being a German forward who supports Arsenal, she’s a big fan of Kai Havertz!
### ARSENAL THROUGH AND THROUGH
Cerci is a big Arsenal fan and was spotted posing for photos in a Dennis Bergkamp shirt in April 2025!
