Andoni Iraola will still be eyeing depth on the wings ahead of his first season at Liverpool, but his expectations of his wide players have been made known.
Liverpool currently have Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and new signing Victor Munoz as their options on the wings, and the pursuit of another remains ongoing.
As for what will be expected of them, Munoz has revealed Iraola gave him a glimpse into his blueprint during their talks last month.
During a meeting with the press while on international duty, Munoz explained, via Diario De Navarra: “He gave me a glimpse into how his teams play, how that might suit me.
“How he likes his wingers to be wide, able to get to the byline, and hard-working.

“I made the right choice with that next step because those are characteristics I really identify with.”
Pressed further on whether it suits his playing style, the Spaniard added: “His style of play, his pressing, how he wants to manage teams, well, I am a player who, because of my characteristics, could fit in.
“And that’s also why I took that step.”
Liverpool’s need for their wingers to be aggressive and on the front foot was hotly discussed last season, and Iraola has already made it known that it will be an expectation.
There is also the non-negotiable for his wingers to work hard, on and off the ball, being the first line of defence, and those prerequisites will be known in what remains of the transfer window.

Yan Diomande was widely reported to be Liverpool’s No. 1 target following the exit of Mo Salah, and while they tabled a bid, later rejected, the player has a preference to join PSG.
This has reportedly led the Reds to the door of PSG’s Bradley Barcola, who predominantly favours the left wing but can play on the right.
The Athletic report that the Frenchman, however, is now valued at upwards of £116 million, an eye-watering fee Liverpool would look to reduce if a move is pursued.
Koln’s Said El Mala, Brighton‘s Yankuba Minteh and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo have also been namechecked as alternatives to Diomande, while Bournemouth‘s Rayan is another to be linked.
