Arne Slot may now be Liverpool’s former head coach, but it looks as though he could be in line for another high-profile job.
Arne Slot in “talks” over Netherlands job
Slot was relieved of his duties at Anfield at the end of last season, following a galling second year in charge.
Writing on X on Monday, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg said the 47-year-old is “one of the candidates” to become the Netherlands’ next head coach after Ronald Koeman’s exit.
He adds that “other candidates are also being considered”, but “initial talks have already taken place” with Slot.

Things clearly ended in sad fashion for Slot, hampering his reputation, but he won the Premier League with Liverpool and is a talented coach.
Getting the Netherlands job would be nice to see, allowing him to again link-up with Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo.
Jeremie Frimpong may even get a recall, too!

How can Andoni Iraola improve Liverpool?
Joanna Durkan has picked out five ways in which Iraola can improve Liverpool, including a return to the intensity of old:
“Too many times last season, supporters were left questioning if the previous setup had the full backing of the dressing room, such was the apathy displayed throughout matches.
“Thus, an important place for Iraola to start is injecting intensity back into this Liverpool side, restoring them to a team that is aggressive and cannot be easily rolled over.
“This goes hand in hand with mentality, which came under scrutiny last season after the mentality monsters of the past became mentality minnows.
“It comes naturally to Iraola’s style, and we’re confident he’ll get this right from the off.”
