FC Halifax Town have announced the signing of Australian winger Zak Gilsenan.

He joined Barcelona in 2012 after impressing in a youth tournament, spending two years at the club before signing for Liverpool.
He then joined Blackburn aged 16. He made five appearances for Rovers in the 2023-24 season, scoring in his first two games, but left the club at the end of the 2024-25 season, with injuries proving hugely disruptive.
Gilsenan played for Grimsby, Buxton and Gateshead last season – the last two on loan – and played under current Town boss John McGrath at Buxton.
