Bukayo Saka has turned England’s Mexico survival act into another sharp Arsenal watchpoint.
The Arsenal winger supplied an assist as England beat Mexico 3-2 in the World Cup last 16. Reuters reported that Thomas Tuchel’s side held on at the Azteca Stadium after Jarell Quansah’s red card.
Jude Bellingham scored twice before Harry Kane added England’s third from the penalty spot. Mexico replied through Julián Quiñones and Raúl Jiménez, but England reached the quarter-finals.
Saka’s assist also matched two England records, according to Daily Cannon. The report says he now has the chance to move clear if England progress again.
Bukayo Saka became the third England player on record since 1966 to provide three assists at a single men's World Cup.
The other two? David Beckham in 2002 and Harry Kane in 2022.
