Liverpool have shifted their interest to German forward Said El Mala after RB Leipzig rejected their offer for Yan Diomande. The Reds are searching for alternatives and Koln’s El Mala is one such option. Tottenham and Newcastle are also in the discussions. But a reputed German journalist has advised Liverpool to not put efforts for the German.

Liverpool wants to bring Said El Mala in Premier League

Under new manager Andoni Iraola, Liverpool have started to move forward. Prior to the new season, the Reds want to invest in their forward line. They want to upgrade their attack by bringing new names. The Premier League side has already signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna for €40m, and Real Madrid have received 50% of that fee as part of the sell-on clause in his contract. Nevertheless, the Merseyside club still wants to sign new forwards.

As reported by TEAMtalk, RB Leipzig want Yan Diomande to stay for at least one more year with them. Therefore they rejected Liverpool’s €100m offer for the Ivory Coast international. Additionally, they have demanded a Bundesliga record breaking fee for the winger. The asking price set by the German club is €148m for him.

As reported by One Football, Liverpool are now monitoring Koln’s talented youngster, Said El Mala. His price has been set at €50m by the Bundesliga side. The young winger has good pace, dribbling ability and goal scoring prowess. It is believed that the 19-year-old can show an instant result in Premier League. The German U-21 international is a hot and versatile prospect. He can play as a winger on both sides and as an attacking midfielder.

Two Premier League clubs are in the race for El Mala along with Liverpool

As reported by BBC, Tottenham have started to talk with Said El Mala’s camp for his signature. Spurs have regularly observed the player. They hope to beat Newcastle in their pursuit for the Koln star.

Liverpool have to face a tough competition in the Premier League for El Mala. Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have maintained contact with the player’s agency. Meanwhile earlier in the summer, Brentford were unable to sign the player. The Bees had to step back after facing difficulties in finalizing a deal of 50 million Euros including add-ons. His family pulled him out of that move.

What did German journalist suggest Liverpool?

As reported by CF Bayern Insider, Bild journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Said El Mala is not prepared to accept the Liverpool move right now. He said that he knows there is huge Premier League interest for the youngster. But he believes that signing for the Reds would not suit him at this moment. Falk thinks that El Mala may arrive in England but not at Anfield.

He said, “I think Liverpool are a step too high for this player at this stage in his development. He has quality, but this isn’t so big that you can compare him at the moment with Yan Diomande.” The journalist is also optimistic that Chelsea could be a club who can purchase El Mala for €50m. Koln has prepared a back-up plan for the German football talent. As reported by TEAMtalk, they would want to keep him at the club and are fixing a deal that would give him his desired salary (€4m).
