Chelsea have confirmed their third permanent sale of the summer in Tyrique George, but plenty more are expected in due course. However, one fringe player is now set to remain.
After the sales of Marc Cucurella and Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Chelsea are expected to cash in on plenty more. Xabi Alonso’s biggest task this summer will be to reduce the size of his bloated squad going into 26-27.

Chelsea are set to welcome a raft of new additions, while loan players will also return. Without Europe, the need for such a big squad is no longer there. Chelsea also need a financial boost after finishing in tenth.
Trevoh Chalobah, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap, Filip Jorgensen, Malo Gusto, Marc Guiu and plenty of Chelsea’s fringe players are being linked with the exit door. Another touted to leave is Tosin Adarabioyo.
Chelsea make Tosin decision as Cesc Fabregas lurks
Last season, Tosin was on the fringes at Chelsea. The defender really struggled to get into the side, and with Levi Colwill available again, he has fallen in the pecking order. A new signing makes things worse.
But some reports suggest Alonso may look to keep Tosin for his leadership skills. At 28, the ex-Fulham defender is one of the oldest and most experienced players in the side, especially in the Premier League.

It is unclear if Tosin is willing to play that rotational, back-up role at Chelsea. Como have shown interest in the former Man City man, with Cesc Fabregas also linked with Mamadou Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah.
However, according to TMW, Chelsea have made a decision on Tosin amid interest from Como. They have chosen to keep him and ignore Como’s interest. It leaves Fabregas to focus on Chalobah or Sarr.
Cole Palmer will be delighted with Chelsea’s decision
Alonso will be focused on sorting out Chelsea’s squad this summer and preparing a team ready to go in pre-season on Thursday. But he will know that if he is to have any success, Cole Palmer will be pivotal.
The England star has struggled over the past 12 months. Palmer has had to play with a groin injury for a while, which Alan Shearer has described as a “horrible position”. Palmer has finally enjoyed a long rest.
Has Cole Palmer been wronged? Or is it just deserved for his poor form?🤔

The last three summers have seen Palmer in action: England’s U21 Euros win in 2023, the Euros in 2024 and the Club World Cup in 2025. Palmer will be fit and good to go, and Alonso needs to keep him happy.
If there is anything Alonso can do to help get the best out of Palmer, it is keeping his best mate in West London. Palmer and Tosin are incredibly close, training together this summer. Palmer will be delighted.
