Chelsea are prepared to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer, with the club not currently considering a loan exit for the Argentina winger.
talkSPORT reports that Chelsea want a permanent deal if Garnacho leaves. The 22-year-old joined from Manchester United for £40m last year.
The Guardian reported at the time that United also included a 10% sell-on clause in the deal.
Garnacho made 43 appearances in all competitions during his first Chelsea season. He scored eight goals and provided four assists. talkSPORT says only one of those goals came in the Premier League.
Alonso Faces Early Wide-Player Decision
The update gives Xabi Alonso an early selection decision before Chelsea’s rebuild fully accelerates.
Garnacho delivered volume in his first season, but he did not secure a clear Premier League role. Chelsea now appear ready to recover value before his place in the squad narrows further.
The club’s stance is also important. A loan would delay the decision and keep Chelsea tied to the same question next summer. A permanent sale would give Alonso a cleaner squad and create room for other wide options.
Read Chelsea has already looked at whether Serie A interest could offer Garnacho a reset. This latest update changes the picture. Chelsea are not just open to movement; they want the right kind of deal.
There have been no club-to-club talks yet, according to talkSPORT. Interest exists, but Chelsea’s position is clear.
If Garnacho leaves, the club want a sale rather than a temporary solution.
