The installaion of a hybrid pitch at Deepdale should almost be complete, if not already, on the date of the fixture (August 8), and therefore it will take place at what is now Everton Women’s stadium.

In a statement, PNE said that they applied for permission from the EFL to play at an alternative venue and subsequently agreed a deal with Everton. They added the pitch will be ready in time for the first home league game of the season against Wolves on August 22.

North End explained that the decision to relocate the game was made ‘to ensure no issues’ to the pitch ‘after a significant £1.5m-plus investment’.

Goodison Park was the home of the Everton men’s team for 133 years until May 2025, before they moved to a new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock. In the same month, it was announced the club’s women’s side would play their future home games at Goodison, the first of which was last September.

The game, which will see PNE’s first summer signing Lee Nicholls and Terriers’ captain Ryan Ledson come up against their former clubs, will still take place at 3pm on August 8.
