Mohamed Salah’s World Cup campaign sees Egypt go up against Argentina this Tuesday evening in the round of 16.

A hard-fought 1-1 draw against Belgium set them up nicely in the group stage before a confident 3-1 victory over New Zealand – featuring goals from Salah, Mostafa Zizo, and Trezeguet -boosted belief within the squad.

Another 1-1 draw, this time against Iran, was enough to secure a historic first-ever qualification to the knockout rounds.

Egypt have since taken it a step further, edging past Australia on penalties in the round of 32.

Attention now turns to a blockbuster clash against Argentina on Tuesday night, where Salah is set to come up against familiar opposition in former Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister.

While his focus remains firmly on international duty, speculation around Salah’s club future continues to swirl in the background.

According to the Daily Mail, both Roma and Juventus have explored the possibility of signing the Egyptian star.

However, any potential deal appears far from straightforward, with costs and overall package demands likely to prove a major stumbling block.

Clubs from the United States and Turkey have also shown tentative interest:

“His former club Roma have explored the idea of bringing him back, as have fellow Italian giants Juventus, but both could be hamstrung by the finances involved.

“Juve boss Luciano Spalletti is the man Salah believes impacted his career the most, the pair having worked together at Roma. Clubs in the United States and Turkey have also had a look at the situation but it is fair to say the race is wide open right now,” Steele explains.

“A return to Liverpool after Slot’s sacking? It is a fantasy many fans have. Stranger things have happened but it would not make sense for either party.”

Salah himself has previously indicated that decisions about his future will only come after the World Cup, suggesting clarity may not arrive until later in the summer. Until then, all eyes remain on his performances on the biggest stage.
