Curtis Jones will be the subject of renewed efforts from Inter Milan after being initially knocked back by Liverpool, according to reports in Italy.
The Italian side have already seen bids worth £17.3 million and £21.7 million for the Scouser fall short of Liverpool’s £40 million valuation.
Their sporting director Piero Ausilio has conceded “there is a big gap” between what they are willing to pay and what Liverpool are demanding, seeing them reach an impasse.
But according to the latest from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are “set to restart” negotiations as they ‘return their focus’ on Jones.

The Italian outlet states that once the Serie A side have reached an agreement with Union Saint-Gilloise for the arrival of Israeli Khalaili, Jones will be back on the agenda, having “never given up” on a deal.
The 25-year-old is still regarded as Inter’s top target due to his technical ability and his capability of “holding his own against more physically demanding opponents.”
If that is the case, there is a sizeable gap in valuation to address at the negotiating table, as Liverpool will be content to keep the academy graduate if a suitable fee is not tabled.
Liverpool’s stance on Curtis Jones
According to the *Mail*‘s Lewis Steele, Liverpool would rather keep Jones and allow him to leave on a free next summer than sell on the cheap.
It has also been suggested that the club could engage in talks over a new contract later in the year if Jones settles into life under Andoni Iraola.
The midfielder is one of eight first-team players entering the last year of their contracts, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, and Joe Gomez for company.
Jones is due to report back for pre-season next week after a seven-week break, having failed to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.
