Everton seal permanent Tyrique George deal

**Chelsea winger Tyrique George has returned to Everton on a permanent deal.**

George spent the second half of last season on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium and made 11 appearances in all competitions for David Moyes’ side.

The Blues held the option of a £25 million buyout in the 20-year-old’s original move to Merseyside but instead sought more structured terms for a deal.

They have now successfully agreed a reduced upfront payment of £18M with their Premier League counterparts with £6M in potential future add-ons.

George, who has signed a four-year contract until June 2030, admitted that he was keen on making his stay permanent despite limited first-team opportunities.

He said: “I loved my time here on loan last season, so as soon as I knew it was a possibility to return, that’s always what I wanted.

“This is a massive club. I’ve seen for myself how passionate the fans are about Everton, how much it means to them – and I want to put on good performances, score goals, and create goals to make them happy.

“The fans and the boys in the changing room made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived in February. It’s a strong group that’s only going to get better.

“I’m excited for what is ahead for us as a group and club.”
