Liverpool are ready to commit their maximum effort to sign Bradley Barcola. After suffering a setback in the pursuit of Yan Diomande, they have shifted their interest to the PSG winger. However, Barcola has some different plans for his future if he leaves Parc des Princes.
Liverpool are determined to bring Bradley Barcola this summer
As reported by BBC, Liverpool had selected RB Leipzig’s winger Yan Diomande as the replacement of Mohamed Salah who has left Liverpool after expiration of his contract. They had submitted an offer of €100m for the Ivory Coast international. But the Bundesliga side rejected that bid. Leipzig wants to keep him for one more season and were not interested to deal with Liverpool. The Reds were planning to improve their offer to €120m but Diomande has announced that he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain.
As reported by TEAMtalk, the Merseyside club had three names shortlisted for the winger position. Koln’s Said El Mala, Hoffenheim’s Bazoumana Toure and PSG’s Bradley Barcola. Bazoumana Toure has already agreed a €50m deal with Newcastle United, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X. Barcola is the strongest candidate out of the remaining two.
Moreover, Yan Diomande’s move to Paris would push them to sell Barcola. The French winger has got less game time this season in the presence of Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Kvaratskhelia. The French champions are planning to sell Barcola for €90m. The PSG winger will also like to leave Parc des Princes. Last month, Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel that talks for Barcola’s new contract at PSG was paused.

Arsenal are also in the mix along with Liverpool for Barcola
As reported by Daily Mail, Arsenal are aware of the fact that the PSG man wants to leave the French capital. The Gunners have already shortlisted several names like Christos Tzolis and Kerim Alajbegovic for the attacking position. Andrea Berta is trying to remain in touch with several targets until a deal is agreed. They are looking at Barcola who will be a good addition to the squad.
However, Daily Mail’s reporter Lewis Steele has said on Anfield Index podcast that he believes the Frenchman would be interested in joining Arsenal. He said that he will like to play his football under Mikel Arteta and will desire to live in capital city, London. Steele pointed out that Liverpool are currently not in that strong position in the league which they were in 2024-25 season. He noted, “He’s got a decision to make and he might prefer Arsenal. Liverpool aren’t as glamorous an option as they may have been 12 months ago.”
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the time Liverpool have to wait for Barcola
Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on his Youtube channel last Sunday on Liverpool’s stance on Barcola. He has said that the Premier League side may have to wait up to 19th July. On that day World Cup will officially end after the final.
France are the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup. This means that they are highly expected to reach the final. Additionally, Barcola’s stock may increase if France win the World Cup. The Reds will have to submit a huge offer to convince PSG to sell him. However, Arsenal may not give them strong competition as the Gunners are aiming for Morgan Rogers.
