However, the match has been moved from Preston's home ground of Deepdale due to ongoing pitch renovations at the venue.
Following June's first round draw, the club's stadium was expected to host the fixture against their League One opponents.
It will instead be played 38 miles away in Liverpool at Goodison Park, though, Preston have confirmed.
The club have revealed they have reached an agreement with Everton as well as receiving permission from the EFL for the change.

Preston statement
In a statement, Preston said: "Preston North End have agreed a deal with Everton to host the club’s first round Carabao Cup tie against Huddersfield Town.
"The tie will be played at 3pm on Saturday 8th August at Goodison Park, the home of Everton Women, formerly the home of the Toffees men's first team up until their move ahead of the 25/26 season.
"The Lilywhites applied to the EFL for permission to play at the alternative venue due to the installation of the new hybrid pitch at Deepdale.
"The pitch will be complete in time for the club’s first home league game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday 22nd August, but to ensure no issues after a significant £1.5m-plus investment, the decision was made to ask permission to play away from PR1 in round one."
Goodison move
Goodison Park has not hosted men's football since Everton moved to the Hill Dickinson Stadium at the end of the 2024/25 season.
However, the Toffees' women's team have since moved to the 39,414-capacity ground for their home matches.

Huddersfield's trip to Goodison Park will also mark their first meeting with Preston for over two years.
Their opponents won the last fixture between the two sides 4-1 at Deepdale in April 2024.
Meanwhile, the Terriers have not played at Goodison Park since a 1-1 draw in September 2018 during their time in the Premier League.
As for Preston, they were beaten 2-0 in the third round of the League Cup back in October 2004.
It has been 68 years since their last win at the ground, however.
The Championship side are currently scheduled to begin the new league season away from home as the pitch improvements continue.
