Trio of early season fixtures rescheduled after latest broadcast selections

The Premier League have confirmed the television selections for Arsenal’s opening five matches of the new season, with three of them set for 8pm kick-offs.

We already knew the curtain-raiser against Coventry would take place on Friday 21 August, but the latest broadcast announcements, covering fixtures up to the first Interlull, have now finalised the rest of the schedule.

Arsenal will travel to Aston Villa at 8pm on Monday 31 August for a Sky Sports live broadcast before heading to Sunderland for an 8pm Saturday kick-off on 12 September, which will be shown on TNT Sports.

In between those away trips, Chelsea’s visit to the Emirates has been moved back by a day to fill Sky Sports’ 4.30pm Super Sunday slot on 6 September.

The only match unaffected by the television reshuffle is Arsenal’s trip to Brighton, which remains a traditional 3pm Saturday kick-off.
