Jeremy Jacquet and Harvey Elliott have been pictured among a small group of senior players reporting for pre-season at the AXA Training Centre as Andoni Iraola watched on.
Iraola is due to oversee the official start of pre-season early next week, but players have started to arrive at the AXA for what the club has described as “preparatory work.”
That will include fitness testing as the club look to establish a baseline for every player ahead of pre-season training and friendlies. The U21s started the process on Monday.
New signing Jacquet was among those pictured at the training ground, with Elliott, Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic, Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley and James McConnell all present.

Ekitike, Endo and Bradley are still in rehab for respective injuries, but the rest headed out onto the outdoor pitches under the watchful eye of Iraola and assistant coach Pablo de la Torre.
They were put through their paces and will be grateful that England’s heatwave has long since passed!
The early return marks an opportunity for Elliott to make an immediate impression on Iraola after believing his Liverpool career was over last summer following a move to Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old will be itching for regular playing time after only 284 minutes across the entirety of last season, and all parties will be assessing the best course of action for 2026/27 and beyond.

It marks the first ‘session’ for Liverpool’s new head coach, who will continue to welcome back his senior players over the next few weeks.
Giorgi Mamardashvili, Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi, Joe Gomez, Milos Kerkez, Kostas Tsimikas, Jeremie Frimpong, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Trey Nyoni, Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha are all due back imminently.
As for the World Cup contingent, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak will be among the first back during the US tour, followed by Alisson.
Victor Munoz and Alexis Mac Allister, at the time of writing, both remain in the tournament for Spain and Argentina, respectively, and will likely join after the team’s return to Merseyside.
