Arsenal make £19m offer for record-breaking teenager also wanted by Liverpool – report

Arsenal are interested in Mexican wonderkid Gilberto Mora, according to Mexican outlet Tv Azteca Puebla.

Arsenal are targeting some of the game’s brightest young talents this summer as they plan for the future.

The Gunners were strongly linked with England youth international Jeremy Monga, but Manchester City beat them to the winger’s signature.

Arsenal may have now turned their attention to Mora, with the club reportedly submitting a £19 million bid for the Mexican youngster. Liverpool are also said to be interested in him.

The talented forward, currently on the books of Mexican club Club Tijuana, is widely considered as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

Mora came through Tijuana’s youth ranks before making his senior debut in August 2024 at 15 years, ten months and five days, becoming the club’s youngest debutant and the third-youngest player in Liga MX’s history.

The 17-year-old has gone on to make 53 appearances across all competitions for Tijuana, chipping in with 10 goals and two assists.

Mora was included in Mexico’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the youngest player at the tournament. He featured four times before the co-hosts lost 3-2 to England in the round of 16.

The record-breaking teenager is a direct and pacey winger. He likes to drive at defences, cut inside to shoot on his stronger right foot, while he can also drive to the byline to pick out a team-mate.

Mora is naturally an attacking midfielder, but he can also be deployed as a left winger and a second striker.

The teenage sensation has three years left on his contract, putting Tijuana in a strong situation to command a significant fee.

In our view, we believe Arsenal should sanction a move for Mora if the price is right. He has the potential to develop into a key player for Arsenal alongside fellow wonderkid Max Dowman.
