There’s nothing quite like arriving at Arsenal for the first time and the pride that comes with it.
Geraldine Reuteler is still feeling those emotions after we signed her from Eintracht Frankfurt and, following getting a good look around the Sobha Realty Training Centre, our new midfielder sat down for her first club interview.
“It means so much,” she said. “I can't put it into words. Arsenal is one of the best clubs in the world and I'm so proud that I can be here.

Reuteler spent the last eight years at Frankfurt, scoring 40 goals in 146 domestic league appearances.
“It was really nice,” she reflected. “It was my first professional move. It became my second home. I spent a nice time there. I could grow up personally and also football-wise. I would say I have a good overview. I'm a box-to-box player and I would say I have a good technique.”
She’s no stranger to Arsenal either, having played alongside Lia Walti for the Switzerland national team and even played against us in pre-season.
“It's a great team with great players,” she said. “I like the way Arsenal plays. I think it fits me - just nice football, I would say."

At international level, Euro 2025 was a special occasion for Reuteler, who starred for her country as they hosted the tournament.
“It was, I think, the highlight of my career so far,” she said. “It was crazy just playing at home in front of so many fans. The whole stadium was red. All of my friends could be there, my family. It was really a crazy experience."
So what is Reuteler looking forward to about life in England, and how excited is she to play in front of all our supporters?
“I’m excited about it,” she said. “I've not been to England much before, so I'm excited about how the weather is here and about living here. I want to become a better football player and win trophies.
“I think it's always a good thing to play in front of a lot of fans, I love it. I saw it in the Euros last year. That was really nice. I'm excited about it.
“I want to win games, I want to score goals, and I want to help the team.”
