Mohamed Salah is expected to reveal his next club soon, with Egypt having been knocked out of the World Cup by Argentina on Tuesday.

Leaving Liverpool a year before his contract expired, Salah is available on a free transfer and there has been no shortage of interest. At 34 years old, he could still play for several years yet, with his next move eagerly anticipated.

Longstanding Saudi Pro League interest in Salah has never gone away. The chance to snap the superstar up for free is especially appealing, with Al Ittihad bidding around $200 million (£150 million) for his services back in 2023.

Clubs in MLS are also thought to be keen on Salah, and though the finances may not be as big, the lifestyle in the US could hold an appeal for the player and his family.

Similarly, there has been interest from Serie A. Juventus and AS Roma are among those to have been mentioned, though neither might be able to make his wage package add up.

Most recently, Fenerbahce has been mentioned as a suitor for Salah. The Turkish side would be able to offer a large salary, but also the chance to carry on playing in UEFA competitions.

Fenerbahce's former board member, Ertan Torunogullari, claimed a few weeks ago that a deal was in place with Salah during his tenure at the club, with the Egyptian supposedly "very keen" on making the switch.

"He was very keen on coming to Turkey. The meetings we had were extremely positive," Torunogullari told Fotospor. "We had established common ground with him on many issues, including his salary.

"I believe that if the new management makes such a request, Salah will wear the Fenerbahce jersey. We would be happy to work with the new management on the negotiations."

Aziz Yildirim, who won the Fenerbahce presidential election, claimed last month that he would be willing to finance a three-year contract worth around $35 million (£26 million) a season for Salah.

If Salah were to move to Turkiye, he could earn double the current highest-paid player in the country, who is Victor Osimhen. Other Premier League players, including Ollie Watkins, have been linked with moves to the region this week.

But Salah would represent the biggest coup, and qualification for the Champions League could help the finances. Fenerbahce will take on Gornik Zabrze of Poland in the second qualifying round for UEFA's top competition.

Liverpool.com says: Salah going to Turkiye would be a good move. The salary would be large and playing in the Champions League should be his aim.
