Liverpool's pursuit of fresh talent this summer is picking up pace with new forwards on the agenda.
The acquisition of Victor Munoz from Osasuna represents the Reds' sole venture into the transfer market so far. But that won't be the case for long, despite the fact the World Cup undoubtedly presents a significant hurdle for clubs eager to conclude their business swiftly. Andoni Iraola is anticipated to assess his existing squad, but further arrivals appear probable.
In today's headlines, one player currently shining at the World Cup and linked with a move to the Reds has been counselled to stay put at his current club. Meanwhile, there's an update on the future of former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who departed Anfield this summer.

World Cup star update
Bradley Barcola has been advised to resist the allure of a lucrative switch to Liverpool by ex-Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly.
The former French international has encouraged the young winger to continue his development at Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Mirror.
Liverpool have shifted their focus to the wide man - presently representing France at the World Cup - as RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande is reportedly favouring a move to PSG. The European champions maintain they have no intention of parting ways with Barcola and value the 23-year-old at over £100million, with Arsenal also thought to be interested. "Barcola doesn't need to leave PSG," he stated.

"He's too young. (France national team head coach) Didier Deschamps is teaching him a lesson and he's giving him a chance. I thought that for Barcola to start and play 90 minutes at the international level, he wouldn't do it because Barcola is too light on defensive discipline.
"Remember, we play with four offensive players, and bringing Barcola into the system could have been another weakness because he doesn't make the effort to defend. When you look at his previous matches with PSG, or even some of the matches he did for the national team during the Euros, he had that weakness.
"He's young; the attention and defensive alertness isn't there to match the speed he projects when he's going forward. He wasn't making the effort to get back into position. So, should he move to the Premier League? Not yet. Not yet at all. Sorry Arsenal and Liverpool fans. He should stay at Paris Saint-Germain, play 25 games a season, and grow within that system."

The Mail have claimed that Roma, the club Salah departed for Liverpool, and Juventus are keen but may encounter a financial hurdle in bringing the Egyptian superstar to Italy. Salah is anticipated to demand a hefty salary wherever he ends up this summer.
The United States has been mentioned as another possible landing spot, while the report also suggests that Turkish clubs are showing interest. Speaking before the World Cup, Salah stated his future would be decided after the tournament. "I am still assessing things," he said.
"I have time now. I am going to the World Cup and then everything will become clear."
