Leeds United could be poised to intensify their pursuit of Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom as Illan Meslier's imminent switch to Arsenal looks set to be confirmed.
Meslier has undergone a medical with the Gunners and finalised personal terms on a transfer to the Emirates, which will go through as a free move.
Leeds will recruit a replacement for the French shot-stopper, who was dropped in favour of Karl Darlow last season following several high-profile errors. Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has been the subject of interest from Leeds, with reports in Italy suggesting an offer has already been made.

With so much interest in Suzuki and so far little to show Parma will allow Leeds to get that deal done at the price they want, the Whites could make a move for Zetterstrom. The club are still in negotiations with Karl Darlow, who is now a free agent after the expiry of his contract, meaning as things stand they've seen two goalkeepers depart in the past week.
Zetterstrom's reputation has grown significantly since his arrival from Djurgarden in summer 2024, having established himself as one of the finest goalkeepers outside the Premier League.
He showcased his talents on the global stage this summer with two commanding displays against Japan and France as Sweden exited the World Cup at the last 32 stage.
Derby have granted Zetterstrom additional time off following his international commitments, conscious that he hasn't had a proper break since the Championship campaign concluded, reports Derbyshire Live.
He is anticipated to rejoin the squad for their pre-season tour of Austria unless Leeds make a concrete move for the 26 year old.
Zetterstrom's market value has rocketed since arriving in England, having previously attracted interest from Wolves before Derby secured his signature. Derby have already been linked with two goalkeepers this summer, with Sunderland's Anthony Patterson reportedly of interest, although his price tag close to £10m may prove excessive.
