Liverpool will like to sign Spanish talent Sergio Arribas this summer. They have identified the Almeria midfielder to be a good addition to the team. Any potential deal of Arribas with any club will benefit Real Madrid. The Los Blancos will monitor the situation attentively.

Liverpool are serious for Spanish prodigy Sergio Arribas

Liverpool have started to prepare for the new season under Andoni Iraola’s leadership. They have already completed a few new signings prior to the 2026-27 season. The club hierarchy are trying to provide all the resources in order to have a successful campaign ahead.

The Reds have shortlisted a completely new name and will try to bring him on board. As reported by Ideal, Liverpool have engaged themselves into the pursuit of Sergio Arribas. The Spanish attacking midfielder had joined La Liga 2 side, Almeria in 2023 from Real Madrid. Currently he is on a long term contract with his club. His deal with Almeria will expire in summer, 2029.

Almeria finished 3rd in 2025-26 season in Segunda division, slightly missing on the chance of promotion after losing the promotion play-off final against Malaga. Arribas has produced stunning performances consistently throughout the season. He is one of the standout players in the whole league and has secured his reputation as an asset in the team. According to FOTMOB, Sergio Arribas has scored 25 goals and gave 7 assists in 42 games in La Liga 2. The Spaniard has scored 44 goals and recorded 16 assists in 129 matches for Almeria in all competitions.

Real Madrid will be benefited behind the scenes

Sergio Arribas is an academy graduate of Real Madrid. He rose through the youth ranks of the club. In 2020, he made his senior team debut against Real Sociedad in La Liga in the dying minutes. Altogether he made 14 senior team appearances for the Los Blancos. The 24-year-old was one of the brightest football stars in La Fabrica since a very young age. He contributed a lot to Real Madrid Castilla before he kicked off his senior career.

Real Madrid is known for their amazing business. Whenever they sanction a sale for their youngsters or academy talents, they include a sell-on clause in their contract. As reported by One Football, they did a similar thing while selling Arribas to Almeria for €6m in 2023. The 15 times Champions League winners will have a say in every negotiation.

The club holds 50% of Arribas’s economic rights. This clause was agreed when his transfer move to Almeria was completed. Madrid saw the academy prospect’s potential. They figured out the chance of getting a huge financial return from his sale in the future. If Arribas moves to Anfield or any other club, Los Blancos will earn a huge profit through that clause.

They did the same thing with Victor Munoz by inserting a 50% sell-on clause in his contract while selling him to Osasuna. The Reds signed Munoz for €40m from Osasuna this summer. Therefore, Real Madrid received €20m from that fee as part of the clause.

Liverpool’s business so far in this transfer window

As reported by TEAMtalk, the Merseyside club has already announced the signing of French defender, Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for €63.6m. The Premier League side has also signed Spanish winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna for €40m. Most recently, they have been heavily linked with PSG winger, Bradley Barcola after they missed out on Yan Diomande’s signing.
