Arsenal have no doubts about their summer transfer priority amid a potential exit, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners are hoping to fine-tune their squad this summer as they look to go from Champions League finalists to winners, while Mikel Arteta will also want an even more dominant domestic campaign.
Arsenal also know other teams will be strengthening big this summer, and remaining static is not an option for any title hopefuls. The Gunners need a left-winger and a box-to-box midfielder this summer, while they will also likely keep an eye out for a striker unless they can find a winger who can also operate in that role.
Romano in no doubt about Arsenal priority
Mikel Arteta
According to transfer guru Romano, there is no doubt about Arsenal signing a left-winger this summer, while Leandro Trossard, who is coming off one of his strongest seasons as an Arsenal player, is likely to be allowed to leave.
Romano said on his YouTube show: "Don't forget about Arsenal, about the winger, because Arsenal will sign an important winger in the summer transfer window. That's for sure. I told you several times, it's not based on the who is going, who is staying. In any case, Arsenal will sign a top winger. Leandro Trossard could go to Besiktas, an agreement, club to club, 18 million euros plus two.
"But waiting on Leandro Trossard to decide, a delegation from Besiktas will travel to the US to have an initial conversation with Leandro Trossard to present the project, and the player doesn't want to decide anything during the World Cup, but after the World Cup, Leandro Trossard will make a decision on Besiktas."
Arsenal's preferred options are already pretty clear
Morgan Rogers
Arsenal are already being linked with a number of targets, but it seems their preferred option is Aston Villa Morgan Rogers. The England international can play out wide, as a number 10 or as a striker, and he clearly has the ability to score and assist at Premier League level.
But Villa are said to be asking for around £130million for Rogers, and that could price Arsenal out of a move. But talks are said to be ongoing, and the Gunners remain very interested.
If they can't get a deal done for Rogers, Arteta is likely to turn to PSG and France star Bradley Barcola as an alternative. Barcola is expected to move this summer, and the left-winger will certainly be cheaper than Rogers.
