Jordan Henderson has given fans an update on his recuperation following surgery on his broken wrist on Wednesday.
The former Liverpool captain, 36, took to social media for the first time since going under the knife after sustaining a freak injury at the World Cup. Henderson has rejoined England's squad in Kansas City after undergoing the procedure on his broken wrist.
The Brentford veteran confirmed the operation had gone smoothly and expressed his gratitude to the hospital following his freak injury after the victory in Mexico City. Henderson posted on Instagram: "Surgery done! Let's get ready for the big one on Saturday.
"Thank you to all the staff that looked after me at Kansas City orthopaedic institute. Especially the three surgeons who carried out the operation. Dr Kenneth P. Unruh, Dr Mark J Winston, Dr Kirk McCullough."
England teammates Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers were swift to rally behind their injured colleague, posting heart emojis in the comments section. His club, Brentford, also offered its well-wishes, writing: "Speedy recovery Jordan!"
The seasoned midfielder has since traveled to Kansas City to be alongside the group and lend his support ahead of their quarterfinal clash with Norway on Saturday.

His presence will undoubtedly provide a significant lift to the squad, given his standing as a much-admired figure within the camp.
Henderson sustained the freak injury after leaping over advertising hoardings and landing awkwardly while celebrating with supporters following the 3-2 triumph over Mexico at the Estadio Azteca.
He needed oxygen as medical personnel carried him off on a stretcher before being subsequently transported to the hospital in the capital.
This comes after he broke his silence for the first time since the distressing incident inside the Azteca on Sunday.
Henderson stated on Tuesday: "A night to remember that's for sure! What an incredible performance against all the different challenges," Henderson said on Instagram.
"So proud to be a part of this special team [emojis]. Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday."
His England team-mates were swift to react. Vice-captain Declan Rice commented: "Some man," while Morgan Rogers added: "What a guy."
Elliot Anderson and Djed Spence also expressed their affection with heart emojis to the injured midfielder.

Henderson has expressed his wish to remain with the rest of the squad to provide his backing and has been in constant communication with his teammates.
