Mo Salah has been linked with a chance to return to his old club, AS Roma, while Virgil van Dijk has reportedly been targeted by AC Milan.
Roma ‘explore’ move for Mo Salah
With Salah’s Egypt side exiting the World Cup in heartbreaking fashion against Argentina, we should now start to hear more about where the Liverpool legend will move.
There have been loose links to Saudi Arabia and MLS outfit San Diego FC, while ex-Fenerbahce chief Ertan Torunogullari has claimed Salah was “keen” on a move to the Turkish club.
In May, Salah hadn’t yet decided for whom he would sign, according to his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, and we are still in the dark over his next club.

The latest on Salah comes from the *Mail*‘s Lewis Steele, who said: “His former club Roma have explored the idea of bringing him back, as have fellow Italian giants Juventus.”
The reporter added, though, that “both could be hamstrung by the finances involved,” but “Juve boss Luciano Spalletti is the man Salah believes impacted his career the most, the pair having worked together at Roma.”
The winger was earning more than £450,000 per week at Liverpool and he would likely have that matched in the Middle East.
The Egyptian’s decision will come down to whether he believes he can still compete at the top level or if it is time to take the last big pay packet of his career and wind down in the Saudi Pro League.

More from This Is Anfield
Hugo Ekitike‘s injury has left Liverpool in a difficult position; if they sign a centre-forward, they will have too many next summer and if they don’t, they are short now.
Sam Millne looks at the solutions to the Reds’ striking conundrum:
“The club’s tendency has been to not buy for the short-term, preferring to make do and get by.
“Towards the end of last season, Cody Gakpo filled in up front – not an ideal solution by any means – but it is in a versatile player where Liverpool’s best option may lie.
“Victor Munoz is not likely to be that man; he is very much deemed as a winger. However, a player of his ilk, who can play across the front three and also help cover Liverpool’s lack of wingers, is arguably the best answer.”

Happy Birthday to our captain, Van Dijk! He is turning 35 years old, having been born on July 8, 1991 in Breda.
There is very little the Dutchman hasn’t managed in his career; at Liverpool alone he has lifted the Premier League as skipper, won the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup.
He would have loved to add the World Cup to his collection this summer, but it wasn’t to be for the Netherlands. At least it has meant that Van Dijk gets to spend his birthday on his holidays, though.
