Liverpool are very much a side in waiting whilst the World Cup continues. There's an acceptance at Anfield that, even as Andoni Iraola takes training for the first time in pre-season, transfer targets will take longer than planned to get over the line due to the summer tournament.
That's not stopping them from planning ahead, however, and Bradley Barcola is very much a name on their radar — especially after Paris Saint-Germain's recent U-turn.

Barcola has just two years left on his current PSG deal and is one of the biggest names that could be on the move this summer.
Romano shares two Liverpool boosts in Barcola race
Fabrizio Romano took to his YouTube channel to reveal that Barcola is no longer "untouchable" at PSG and Arsenal are prioritising a move for Rogers instead this summer. It's two major boosts for Liverpool, who should have a far simpler run towards the winger's signature as a result.
"Don’t forget also Liverpool, because both Liverpool and Arsenal are calling for Barcola. Liverpool have the player on the very top of their shortlist since the summer transfer window of 2025, and Liverpool remain interested in Barcola.
"Barcola is also appreciated by Arsenal, but he is not position number one. Position number one is Morgan Rogers." - Romano
It's quite the U-turn from PSG. At the start of the window, reports were claiming that Barcola is not for sale as far as they are concerned. Now, he is not considered "untouchable" and could be on the move.
Barcola is exactly what Liverpool are looking for
If it's not Yan Diomande this summer, then it has to be Barcola. Liverpool are looking for direct wingers after such a passive season last time out and the PSG man is exactly that.

The deal won't come cheap, with PSG previously setting a £116m asking price, but the Reds proved last summer that they're not afraid to spend big.

Liverpool look destined to miss out on Diomande to PSG and whilst that is a blow, it should also open the door for Barcola to solve their attacking problems.
