Jordan Henderson has taken to social media to provide an update on his freak injury on Sunday night.
The former Liverpool captain suffered a wrist injury while celebrating England’s 3-2 World Cup win over Mexico, after losing his footing and falling over advertising boards, and was taken to hospital for assessment.
According to BBC Sport, England manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to advise players against jumping over advertising boards after Henderson’s freak injury.
Now taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old confirmed that the procedure was complete and thanked the medical personnel for their expertise:
“Surgery done! Now Let’s get ready for the big one Saturday.
“Thank you to all the staff that looked after me at Kansas city orthopaedic institute. Especially the 3 surgeons who carried out the operation. Dr. Kenneth P. Unruh, Dr. Mark, and J Winston Dr.” Kirk McCullough.”
