Liverpool’s summer transfer business has begun with the arrivals of Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet, but further additions are expected as the club continue to strengthen the squad.
The Reds are preparing to return for pre-season this month, with Andoni Iraola set to meet his new squad for the first time and begin preparations for the upcoming campaign.
There could be earlier-than-expected returns for players such as Virgil van Dijk, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz following their nations’ exits from the tournament. However, Alexis Mac Allister and new signing Munoz remain involved.
A new winger remains a priority, with Liverpool continuing to be linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola. RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa and Mexico youngster Gilberto Mora have also emerged as potential options.
Sporting Lisbon winger Geovany Quenda was previously linked with a move to Anfield, with reports suggesting Liverpool were among several European clubs offered the chance to sign the 19-year-old.
However, Quenda will not be joining Liverpool this summer after Chelsea officially announced his signing.Quenda is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in European football after playing a key role in Sporting’s league and cup Double triumph last season.
The teenager was named Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season in 2025 and has become a regular figure for Sporting over the past two campaigns, featuring on both wings and at wing-back.
Quenda became the youngest player to score for Sporting during his debut season and ended the campaign with 54 appearances across all competitions as the club secured the double.
He also holds the record as the youngest Portuguese player to score in the UEFA Champions League. Most recently, Quenda has represented Portugal at Under-21 level and was included in the Team of the Tournament at the 2025 European Championships.
“It feels great to be here,” the highly-rated forward said. “Chelsea is a great team and I am excited to play here at Stamford Bridge. The club has shown faith in players like me and I am proud to be here, proud to be part of this club.
I am excited to work with my team-mates and the Manager, Xabi Alonso. I’m a very hard-working young person and I like to help my team.
“I want to be someone known for having the right mentality to help my team-mates and who does their best for the club to win trophies.”
