Arsenal transfer exit: Three Gunners Arteta must cash in on right now
Arsenal transfer exit: The parade is over. The open-top bus is back in the garage. Arsenal are the champions of England for the first time in over two decades, but Mikel Arteta isn’t the type to sit back and admire his medals. Neither is Andrea Berta. Behind closed doors at the Emirates, the manager and his sporting director are already cutting the fat from a squad that went agonisingly close to a historic double in Budapest. To stay at the top, you have to be ruthless.
That means clearing out the players who no longer fit the blueprint. Three big names are topping the list.
1. Leandro Trossard:
It looks like the end of the road for the Belgian. TEAMtalk broke the news on 6 July that Trossard has actively asked for a move, with Turkish giants Besiktas leading the chase. A fee of £17.1 million is on the table. Honestly? You can’t begrudge him the move.
Trossard was immense last year. Eight goals, eleven assists, and that unforgettable, title-clinching winner at West Ham in May. He delivered when it mattered most. But football is a cold business. He turns 32 this year, and the club are already hunting for younger, more dynamic blood on the left flank. Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is the main target, even with a massive £100 million price tag. Trossard knows the writing is on the wall. A move suits everyone.
2. Gabriel Martinelli:
This one stings. From dynamic wonderkid to the fringes of the first team. According to reports from Metro in June, Arsenal are ready to listen to bids for the Brazilian winger. Look at the data from the recent campaign, and it becomes glaringly obvious why.
30 appearances look fine on paper. The reality? Just 1,073 minutes of Premier League football. That breaks down to a dismal 36 minutes per appearance. One goal. Three assists. He spent the season sitting on the bench, watching Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze take his minutes. He is a luxury squad player now, not a starter for a club aiming to dominate Europe. At 24, Martinelli still commands a hefty fee on the open market. David Ornstein confirmed via The Athletic that Arsenal will entertain serious offers. It’s time to cash in.
3. Gabriel Jesus:
Sentimentality gets you sacked in this game. Arteta loves Jesus. The fans love his work rate. He arrived from Manchester City for £45 million in 2022 and wants to sign a new deal to stay in North London. But his body keeps letting him down.

Three league goals in 14 games. Only three starts all year. He spent the business end of the season playing cameo roles or running around in dead rubbers while Viktor Gyökeres established himself as the undisputed focal point of the attack. Jesus is 29 now. His knees are a constant worry, and his market value is plummeting by the month. Metro reported that the club will open their doors to a sale this summer. This is the absolute last chance to get any decent money back for him.
