Tottenham could face competition from Barcelona for the signing of Premier League forward.
Tottenham Hotspur have made waves across the Premier League with their transfer business. They have loosened their purse strings and backed our gaffer, Roberto De Zerbi, with six summer signings thus far, and more fresh faces are expected to follow.
The North London club will continue to spend, focusing now on fortifying the forward line that mustered only 48 Premier League goals last season. Alongside Marmoush, Tottenham also hold an interest in another Premier League forward.
As per the latest reports, Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi has emerged as a primary target for Tottenham. The youngster enjoyed an impressive debut season with Bournemouth. He netted 13 goals in 33 Premier League appearances, playing a vital role for the Cherries in qualifying for the Europa League. And after his breakout campaign at the Vitality Stadium, the France Under-21 international now looks set for the biggest transfer of his career so far.
Barcelona enter race for Eli Junior Kroupi
Spurs are reportedly preparing a first huge offer for Eli Junior Kroupi, who is valued at over £80m. However, signing the talented Frenchman would not be straightforward for Tottenham.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Diario Sport, Barcelona have expressed an interest in Kroupi. They view the Bournemouth starlet as an alternative to Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
The 20-year-old would be delighted to join Barcelona, but the Spanish champions will only pursue a move if the option of primary target Julian Alvarez collapses. Given that Atletico Madrid has set an asking price of €150 million for Alvarez, Barcelona would struggle to pay such an exorbitant fee, especially after splashing €80 million including add-ons for Anthony Gordon at the start of the summer. So, they might put all the eggs in the Kroupi basket, with the Bournemouth man set to cost half of Alvarez.

Barca’s entry in the race for Kroupi should ring alarm bells in the Tottenham offices. De Zerbi is believed to be thrilled at the prospect of having the French talent as part of his squad for the upcoming campaign. He is seemingly pushing the club bosses to accelerate their interest in the 20-year-old, as the Italian boss looks to add a top striker to compete with Dominic Solanke.
It is no surprise that Bournemouth do not want to lose Kroupi after just one season, which made him one of the most sought-after attacking talents in the market this summer. As Barca’s Plan B to Alvarez is Kroupi, Tottenham must up their ante to sign him.
