Who remembers the charges? Who remembers when a verdict on the charges was imminent? More than six years since the Premier League went public with serious allegations since Manchester City, and over 18 months since all the evidence was heard, nobody has a clue when the next update will be - or what it will contain.

Some giddy souls have been speculating that a verdict is about to drop for over a year now without success and still there are some that claim they have the inside scoop that a reckoning is days away. Rumour and speculation tends to spike around international breaks or the summer, since that is seen as a time when it would be 'best' for the bomb to be dropped.

That of course is subjective and depends on which of the two parties can claim the greater win. It may suit the victor for it to go out at the start of a quiet week where it can dominate the news agenda, but the other side would rather slip it out minutes before England take to the field for a World Cup final that they will emerge triumphant from.
