Aston Villa transfer target Karim Adeyemi appears set to join Barcelona this summer.

The 24-year-old had entered the final year of his contract with Borussia Dortmund, leaving the German club vulnerable to a sale.

Villa had identified Adeyemi among several other wingers as players who could add quality and pace to Unai Emery’s attack.

The right wing position is an area where Emery wants to bolster this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Ibrahim Mbaye and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen also admired.

Adeyemi, meanwhile, is closing in on a move to Barcelona after agreeing terms with the La Liga giants.

Villa are restricted in the transfer market due to Squad Cost Rules (SCR), which limit spending to how much a club generates in revenue.

Morgan Rogers’ future will go some way to shaping what Villa can do in the market, considering a sale would allow more flexibility, but the club do not want to sell their prized asset.

Reports claim that Villa have a £130 million valuation of Rogers, and will have to hand 20 per cent of a sale to Middlesbrough, who sold him in January 2024.

Arsenal would like to sign Rogers, but understand that it would take a huge fee to take him out of Villa in this transfer window.
