Despite wrapping up the signings of Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz early in the window, things have went quiet for Liverpool in the transfer window.
There’s still plenty of work to be done. A winger to replace Mohamed Salah remains the priority, whilst a midfielder and another defender is also expected to be considered.
One of Liverpool’s biggest weaknesses last season was the right-back department. Jeremie Frimpong joined from Bayer Leverkusen for £29m but has struggled to fully adapt at Anfield.
Conor Bradley suffered a serious ACL injury in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal in January and missed the remainder of the season. The youngster is also expected to miss the start of the season as he continues his rehabilitation.
Liverpool are considering their options at right-back. We exclusively reported their interest in Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Ratiu last month, but the door could be open to sign another name…
Liverpool Should Hijack Move for Givairo Read
Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read has been heavily linked with both Liverpool and Manchester City over the past couple of years.
However, another Premier League club is seemingly pushing for the Dutchman’s signature.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have had an opening bid rejected for the youngster.
Speaking on X, he said: “Nottingham Forest have submitted €17.5m official bid to Feyenoord for right back Givairo Read.”
“The proposal has been rejected but #NFFC expected to return to the table soon.”

Read is widely regarded as one of the best young right-backs in Europe. If he is availble for anything close to the €17.5m bid submitted by Nottingham Forest, then it could be a no-brainer.
Despite having just three years remaining on his contract at Feyenoord, the 20-year-old is expected to leave the Dutch side this summer.

Options are slimming for Liverpool. Brentford’s Michael Kayode was a reported target, but he has since signed a new contract to stay at the Bees until 2032.
Read would come in as an immediate solution to Liverpool’s right-back issue, providing competition to Conor Bradley once he returns from injury.
It would also free up Jeremie Frimpong to be deployed further up the pitch, where he has been more effective for the Reds.
